Bishop George C. Searight

Beloved pastor, spiritual father to many, renowned author, anointed psalmist and trailblazer of praise and worship are some of the phrases used to describe Bishop George C. Searight. Seventeen years ago he founded the Abundant Life Family Worship Church in New Brunswick, New Jersey and currently serves as Senior Pastor.
Under Bishop Searight’s leadership, the Abundant Life Family Worship Church has experienced tremendous membership growth. With a congregation of more than 4,000 members and over 40 diverse ministries, Bishop Searight is on his way to carry out his vision of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the community and
to the world at large.

While Bishop has touched the lives of many through his powerful sermons, his gift of song allows him to go beyond the church walls. Bishop Searight has produced and released two praise and worship cd’s: "Amazing Grace" and "Designed for Praise". He is a firm believer that praise and worship has the ability to bring souls closer to experiencing God’s awesome power. For the past four years, he has hosted the Night of Healing and Remembrance – a praise and worship service dedicated to remember the victims of September 11th - sponsored by NY #1 Radio Station, 98.7 Kiss-FM. He has been privileged to carry the anointing of praise and worship all across the United States to major platforms such as Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).

He is a renowned speaker on Praise and Worship and has traveled the country and abroad evangelizing and facilitating conferences, seminars and crusades. His first book, The Dwelling Place, was released in 2007, and shares how praise and worship allows participants to invite God into one’s presence. Along with the release of the book, Bishop hosted his annual Praise and Worship Conference, better known as The Praise Party.

Now one year later, Bishop is back taking Praise and Worship to the next level with the new release of his double CD, Make Your Presence Known, featuring Bishop George C. Searight and Royal Priesthood. This long awaited project is sure to bless masses and encourage listeners to invite God into their dwelling place. Prior to establishing The Abundant Life Family Worship Church in 1991, Bishop Searight served Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr. at The Cathedral International in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Bishop Hilliard consecrated Pastor Searight to the Office of Bishop on June 21, 2003.

Bishop received his training from the Bethel Bible Institute and serves as the National Praise and Worship Leader for the Covenant Ecumenical Fellowship and Cathedral Assemblies, Inc. In August 2004, Bishop Searight received an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College. Bishop Searight also serves as Police Chaplin in the City of New Brunswick.

Bishop Searight has been married to Lady Mary for 32 years. Through this union, God blessed them with two children, Erika and George II.
